About Aybike Ahmedi

Aybike Ahmedi is an Uzbek, Turkish, American writer from New Jersey. She explores her Central Asian heritage through her oral history projects and is currently writing and directing an oral history documentary on the Central Asian diaspora. She teaches English Composition at The City College of New York where she received her MFA in Creative Writing and works as an archival assistant to Professor William Gibbons in the CCNY Library, processing the materials of John Henrik Clarke and Herb Boyd. Aybike is managing editor for Guernica Magazine.

Her writing has appeared in the Cephalopress anthology: Borders and Belonging, Teachers & Writers Magazine, Archives as Muse, and Wrist Enthusiast.
